Larry Dennis McClain Sr. 70, of Hidalgo, IL passed away at 5:15 AM on October 29, 2018 at his residence.

The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family.

Larry was born on March 16, 1948 in Toledo, IL to Orval & Sara (Burton) McClain. He married LeAnne Jones on August 15, 1970. Surviving is his wife; Son Larry (DeAnn) McClain of Hidalgo, IL; Stepdaughter Kim (Rick) Shepard of Charleston; stepson Jim Bragg of Lerna; grandchildren Austin McClain, Lindsey McClain, Tyler (Shantha) Shepard, Jennifer (Layne) Warfel, Alexander (Alyssa) Shepard, Jacob Shepard, Nikki Shepard, Natalie Shepard, Chad (Skylar) Bragg and Brad Bragg; great grandchildren Madaline, Lucas and Katherine Shepard, Bo and Roarke Bragg, Harli and Eleanor Warfel and Emma Rhoades; special niece and nephews Andrew, Samantha and Josh McClain. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother Duane and sister Janet Pharis.

Larry served his country in Army 101st Airborne during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1970. He worked at Justrite in Mattoon for 17 years and at Grant’s Fertilizer in Toledo for 12 years.
