Joseph Dwain Nelson, 78, of Jewett, IL passed away at 3:44 AM on May 22, 2019 at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday May 25, 2019 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday evening at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Hazel Dell Cemetery.

Joe was born on November 12, 1940 in Mattoon, IL to F. Gilbert & Charolette (Sparks) Nelson. He married Mary Graham on June 18, 1960 and she preceded him in 2004. Surviving are children Tony Nelson (Lynne) of Teutopolis, Jay (Gidget) Nelson of Jewett, Kurt Nelson of Greenup and Jodie (Mike) Kuhring of Dieterich; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; one brother Gary Nelson of Toledo. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; daughter in law Linda Nelson and brother Marshall “Mick” Nelson.
