Dorothy M (Tiemann) Albert

Dorothy Marie Albert, 90, of Hidalgo, IL passed away at 12:26 PM on February 17, 2019 at Lakeland Rehab and Health Care Center in Effingham, IL.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday February 23, 2019 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday evening at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Hays Cemetery rural Hidalgo, IL.

Dorothy was born in Kewanee, IL to Herman & Marie (Hansen) Tiemann. She married Edgar Albert on March 16, 1947 and he preceded her in 2013. Surviving are there sons Daniel (Kathy) Albert of New Lennox, Carl Albert of Effingham, David (Trish) Albert of Hidalgo and William (Barbara) Albert of Shumway; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; one brother Martin Tiemann and one sister Ruth Hill.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; one sister and brothers Herman, Max, Fred, William and Andrew Tiemann.

            Dorothy was a homemaker and an in-home care giver for many years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Casey, IL; the Casey Trinity Ladies Aid, the Jasper Co. Home Extension. She was past president and member of the Greenup Historical Society, and the Greenup VFW women’s Auxiliary.
