Janet S. Cornell

Janet S. Cornell, 71, of Toledo, IL passed away at 7:35 am on July 1st 2017 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday July 6th 2017 at the Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Toledo, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday evening at the church. Burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo is assisting the family.

Janet was born on March 27, 1946 in Toledo, IL to Joe & Juanita (Roberts) Beasley. She married Wendell Cornell on June 17, 1967. Surviving is her husband; Daughters Melissa (Bill) Carter of Yemassee, SC and Heather (Sam) Elfakir of Toledo; Sister Linda Kilman of Mattoon; Grandchildren Joshua (Ashley) McKemie of Jefferson City, TN, Jacob McKemie of Indianapolis, IN, Caralisa Slaton of Walterboro, SC, Faith (Scott) McWaters of Hamilton, Australia, Taylor Rippey of Arcola, IL, Mary Grace Carter of Yemassee, SC, Samuel Elfakir of Toledo, Alicia Elfakir, Katlin Gordon and Nakarri Drum; and two great-grandchildren, Harper Hickman and Wendell McKemie. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Janet worked at Ettelbrick Shoe Co. and Worked and retired from the EIU police Dept. after 20 plus years. She was a member of the Calvary Tabernacle UPC in Toledo.
